2023 Week 4 Newsletter: 1/30/23 – 2/24/23
This week marked the fourth week of our 2023 build season, where much progress has been made on a continual basis. We have continued strategizing for this year’s game, as well as award writing activities.
This week robot build began, refining of the prototypes continued, awards were submitted, and more work was done planning the Sponsor and Community Event.
Next week’s goals are to get most of the robot built, meals planned out for competition, and make the competition roster.
Mechanics:
This week mechanics built the drive base of the robot, started building the tower for our arm, built some shelves for teachers and put the hinges on the charge station fieldpiece. Next week’s goals are to get most of the robot built and build a shelf for the Aquarium of the Pacific.
CAD:
This week CAD continued to refine the designs for this year’s robot, as well as designing gifts for our sponsors and supporters for the Sponsor and Community Event. Next week’s plans are to assist Mechanics with the assembly of the robot.
Programming:
This week programming, programmed the drive base of the robot, and made autonomous pathing codes. Next week’s plans are to program the mechanisms as they get built.
Electronics:
This week electronics made the electronics board for this year’s robot as well as planning out their table display for the Sponsor and Community Event. Next week’s plans are to help where needed and continue to refine and organize the electronics for the robot.
Business:
This week business submitted the Impact Award and made the script and presentation for the Impact Award Video and presentation respectively. Next week’s plans are to make the video for the Impact Award and practice the presentation, as well as continue planning the Sponsor and Community Event.
Schedule:
- Monday: 3:30-9, team dinner (those who have dinner are expected to stay until 9)
- Wednesday: 1:30-9, team dinner (those who have dinner are expected to stay until 9)
- Thursday: 3:30-9, team dinner (those who have dinner are expected to stay until 9)
- Saturday: 10-6, team lunch
